Little Brother seeking sport-minded Big

Wait-List Bio. "Kenny"

Kenny, an 8 year old boy, is in the 2nd grade. Soon, his older brother will venture to college, leaving him at home with his mother and 16 yr old sister. Adopted at an early age from the foster care program, he has had both mother and father. Kenny's father was a caring and nurturing father, and disabled from an accident since before Kenny was born. He passed away two years ago. Kenny has been handling this well, but his mother recently started counseling because she's realizing that she's been depressed since his first absence at Christmas.

With Kenny's older brother going away to college, Ken will have no male role models. He does well in school, but especially struggles with reading. He is a happy and smiling little boy who likes to make funny faces, although he says he's not funny. Kenny enjoys video games and all sports. He loves his family and says that they are "good." His wish is for a Big Brother who likes to play sports and also to go to Chuck E Cheese or eating chicken nuggets at any fast food restaurant is his wish.

"Extremely charming," is how his mother describes him, and adds "He is an energetic boy with a bubbly personality." The mobile home park he calls home has become an "adult park" now- no kids to play with. His 16 year old sister works at the Boys and Girls club, so he goes there a couple of times a week to play with other kids.

Match Recommendations:

Mom would prefer a non-smoker, but is not excluding any volunteer. She has no other preferences as long as a Big Brother is able to keep up with Kenny's unlimited energy. She wants someone who can give him some individual male attention, keep him active and do "boy things."

Kenny needs someone who could concentrate on some reading skills with him from time to time: someone who is active and athletic, and likes to laugh.
