  • Everett, WA, June 30, 2011 – Big Brothers Big Sisters of Snohomish County announces the establishment of the Karen King Big Brothers Big Sisters Endowment Fund in memory of Karen King, a former Big Sister who passed away in July 2010. To honor Karen King’s devotion to her Little Sister and her deep caring and commitment to all children, her family has created an endowment fund in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters mentoring programs and to provide assistance for children in the program who are interested in pursuing higher education.

  • Big Brothers Big Sisters of Snohomish County, Comcast & Woodside Elementary School Partner to Help Kids Succeed
  • Big Brothers Big Sisters of Snohomish County and Comcast are launching an innovative partnership that promises to improve the odds for participating Lynnwood fourth- and fifth-graders to achieve as students and succeed as adults.

    Comcast has partnered with Big Brothers Big Sisters and Woodside Elementary School to launch Beyond School Wallssm, a program where fourth- and fifth-graders are matched with company employees for one-to-one mentoring. Comcast employees will serve as Bigs for the first time on Dec 9, at Comcast’s Lynnwood office at 15815 25th Ave W. Lynnwood (see video footage of the event on youtube). Following the introductory event, the Littles will meet and spend time with their Bigs at the Comcast facility at least twice a month. Big Brothers Big Sisters will provide ongoing support for the mentoring matches.
