Meet Big Brother Clint & Little Brother Christopher, our 2015 Match of the Year!

We are very excited to introduce you to Big Brother Clint and Little Brother Christopher, our 2015 Match of the Year.  Matched just over a year ago, Clint and Christopher are two of a kind. Their match is the kind of match that we work hard to make.  They are both into baseball - having been to several Mariner's games together and are both totally into football which Christopher is now playing.  Both Clint and Christopher have a ton of energy and like to stay busy doing fun things.  Yet their relationship is more than just having fun.  Clint has been an excellent motivator, encouraging Christopher to work hard and to step out of his comfort zone once in a while.  Clint's belief in Christopher has given him the confidence to try new things, like joining a wrestling team last winter, for the first time.

The two meet every Saturday.  Clint calls like clockwork every Wednesday just to check in and see how things are going at school. Christopher’s Aunt Leslie states that those phone calls have made a world of difference in Christopher’s grades. Christopher is currently on the verge of receiving straight A's, all very different from pre-Clint days.  Christopher looks up to Clint and wants to make him proud.

When we asked Christopher what he thought of his Big Brother, what stood out the most is what he calls “Making Memories for a Lifetime”. Last winter, the two went on an eagle boat tour on the Skagit River. They got to see spectacular sights as the tour guide informed them of the history of the river and why the eagles make it their home. They also took a tour of Century Link Field home of the NFL World Champions Seattle Seahawks and more recently, they were recipients of two NFC championship playoff game tickets.

For the holidays Christopher wanted to buy Clint a gift to thank him for all the wonderful memories they are creating. Clint, who is a huge UW Husky fan received a Husky license plate cover for his car. Once home Clint put the appreciated gift on his car and took a snapshot and sent it to Christopher. After receiving the photo Christopher told his aunt, “Now a memory of me is with Clint whenever he drives!”

It is this type of growing relationship that makes Big Brother Clint and Little Brother Christopher, our 2015 Match of the Year.  Please join us in congratulating them for a match well done!
