- All Littles
receive a FREE YMCA MEMBERSHIP through Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Their Big may come as a guest on any outing to the YMCA. Utilize
this memberhip to enjoy fitness and/or family activities within
the YMCA near you!

Does
your LITTLE have their YMCA membership?
Memberships are FREE and the application process is
simple. Forms are available from BBBS and need to be signed
by a parent/guardian, then taken to a Snohomish County YMCA
membership services desk. Bigs can utilize the YMCA with
their Littles. You are your Little's "guest"
at your commuinity Y.

- Get
Movin' FREE
Each week participants meet this goal, they earn a bonus reward
such as free swimming, free ice skating or free rock climbing.
Get Movin' is open to all ages.

Rotary Ranch Petting Zoo
Opens May 27
Looking for something special for kids to cocka-doodle-do this
summer? Mix and mingle with the "fur and feather' set when
the Rotary Ranch Petting zoo in Jennings Memorial Park. The
petting zoo will be open daily (except Mondays) from 11 am -
6 pm.
The petting zoo gives city kids hands-on experience with their
favorite barnyard critters. Admission is FREE. Special story
times on Wednesdays at 1:00 pm

Bay National Estuarine and Research Reserve
Padilla Bay is an estuary at the saltwater edge of the
large delta of the Skagit River. It is about eight miles long
and three miles across. In 1980, this bay was selected to be
included in the National Estuarine Research Reserve System.
Padilla Bay is located in Skagit County in Washington State.
Its part of the Salish Sea, which includes the Straits
of Juan de Fuca, Puget Sound, Hood Canal, Georgia Straits, and
the waters around the Gulf and San Juan Islands.
Our trails and parking lot are always open and free of charge.
The Breazeale Interpretive Center (offices, exhibits and fish
tanks) is open to the public Wednesday through Sunday from 10:00
to 5:00 closed on official State holidays. Donations
are accepted.

Check out exciting activities at Sno-Isle Libraries for children
and teens; such as Detective Science, a Whodunit, Celebrating
10 years of Harry Potter, and meeting with the famous Tim Noah
and local artist, Nancy Stewart; and many many more.

- Essay
Contest for LITTLES
NASCAR super star Matt Kenseth, Big Brothers Big Sisters of
America and Arby's are sponsoring the Matt
Kenseth "Drive to Succeed" Essay Contest just
for BBBS LITTLES. Check out the details and put your thoughts
together about "What drives you to succeed." The winning
essayist will be flown (with their Big, parent or guardian)
to the NASCAR Busche series race in Phoenix, Arizona on November
12, 2007 to meet Matt Kenseth and watch the race. The first
50 entries will receive an autographed photo of Matt Kenseth.
In addition, the winning essay will be posted on arbysracing.com.
Deadline to register your entry is August 27, 2007.

Jetty Island
Days - Take the Jetty Island ferry free to Jetty Island, just
across from the Everett waterfront - spend the day walking on
the beach, creating sand castles, swim in the water, watching
wildlife, some evening campfire programs - take food and water
and spend the day!
Snohomish
County YMCA's - there's all sorts of great programs, from sports
teams, to classes, swimming, basketball, weightlifting, racquetball,
skate boarding (Mukilteo), off-road motorcycle riding/goal setting
program (Marysville), tae kwon do, and more! Some free for members
(which your Little automatically is!), some fees, depending on
activity/program.
Mountaineers
- join the mountaineers program and get and hike!Seattle REI -
climb the Pinnacle! ($5 for a shot at the climb - get them to
fax you a parent/guardian release of liability sheet before hand!)
Cascade
Crags - downtown Everett has its' own climbing wall - take a visit
and find out how much it costs - you can go for 1-2 hours, learn
how to belay, and push your limits!
Biking
- free trails to ride around the area - Burke-Gilman trail around
Lake Washington - bike from Marymoor Park in Redmond to Seattle
without having to ride on the road! Take the Interurban trail
from Edmonds to Everett! Bike from downtown Snohomish to Arlington
and back on the Centennial trail! Ride through Tukwila on the
Interurban down there!
Check
out your local town and county for other possible opportunities
- a great way to get out and see the area!
Robinhood
Lanes in Woodway - check out their Sunday brunch and bowl from
9 am - 12 pm - purchase brunch, and bowl 3 free games (shoes are
extra). Call ahead to make sure they're open.
Beaches
and Parks - check out local parks and beaches for a walk in the
woods or the beach; take a night hike at low tide at Edmonds waterfront
park- bring your flashlight and see all sorts of fun critters!
Lots
of parks and beaches have free music and entertainment in the
summers - check out the parks near you!
